I'm guessing/fingers crossed that an e g negligent homicide suit will go up the chain to Finney. Meanwhile, this must have been a nightmare for Finney, who wasn't the one who screwed up but who's responsible none-the-less -- I can only imagine what has been going thru his mind these last months. And of course the frustration and countless conversations and frustration behind closed doors betw all the players... --Jenifer

This also serves to scapegoat Norbits and let Chief Finney completely off the hook.  Typical.

This tempts me to say, cynically, that I'd gladly forfeit a month's pay to accidentally get rid of someone on my mental hit list...


But looking seriously at an all too serious issue, this is HUGE: it recognizes that Norbits was NOT discharging his duty properly when he discharged his gun. Of course he himself should have been/should be discharged, and docking him 30 day's pay is obscene, as if that's what a young life is worth... but I think this surely opens the door for a successful legal suit, which the internal police report did not. 



This is excellent picketing weather...
