[Liberal pundits, who for a year could say only how stupid Sarah Palin was, have
suddenly decided she is "canny" (Raban in NYRB) and "cunning" (Rich in the NYT).
But we need to think of her presence as the symptom, not the disease. A better
job of diagnosis is done in the article below. --CGE]
