On Thursday, January 21, 2010 the Lincoln Park Neighbors United
for Peace (LPNUFP) and other groups will host a free and open-to-the-public
debate between the Democratic Party candidates for U. S. Senate in the
February primary. Noted Chicago Sun Times columnist Laura Washington will
moderate. The event will be held at the DePaul University McGowan Science
Center, 1110 W. Belden Ave., Lecture Center 108.

Confirming their appearances are David Hoffman, Cheryle
Robinson Jackson, Robert Marshall, and Jacob Meister. Alexei Giannoulias
has declined to participate. A spokesman for Mr. Giannoulias declined
participation citing a “prior commitment.”

The DePaul University Center for Black Diaspora, Chicagoans
Against War and Injustice, and Logan Square Neighbors for Peace are
co-sponsors.

Lincoln Park Neighbors United for Peace was formed during the
buildup to the Iraq War when it opposed that war from before its beginning.
LPNUP does not subscribe to any political philosophy or program, and it is
non-partisan.
