To respond to Stuart's concern, none of these groups--SPLC, ADL, Wiesenthal, etc.--should receive dispensation for what amounts to a kind of liberal do-gooding, any more than the KKK would have been lauded for providing meals to poor white kids (not that they did). These are ideological organizations, and should be judged on that basis.

What Makes Me a Threat?
Montgomery, Alabama, 3/12/2010
1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Southern Poverty Law Center

Several concerned individuals from all over America will be requesting a meeting with the Southern Poverty Law Center on March 12, 2010. The individuals concerned will be asking the Southern Poverty Law Center why they have been listed by the Law Center as potential threats, extremist, or in some way deviant.

The individuals involved are members of several groups listed by the Law Center in their printed material and on their website. We would like to know why a powerful civil rights organization that has the power to bring individuals and groups up on criminal charges and can sue groups and individuals has attacked non-violent diverse groups.

The groups concerned are comprised of many different races, cultures, and colors. These groups are made of people of all sexual orientations and genders.

The groups involved are made up of many political philosophies and ideologies. They are Republicans, Democrats, third parties, as well as communists, socialists, and anarchists.

These groups advocate peace and liberty for all.

Seeking answers, we will be at the Southern Poverty Law Center to ask these questions. Our hope is that the Law Center can answer these questions and possibly retract their statements about the groups and individuals involved.

There will be a small crowd gathered outside the Law Center to express unity and solidarity with the groups and individuals concerned.
