[Soul Miners]

"Building character on stage" is the mission of a
new local children's theatre group that will offer its inaugural performances
on May 29-30 and June 5-6.
 
A one-act musical adaptation of “Horton Hatches the Egg”
will be presented by the students of Soul Miners Children’s Theatre Company of
Champaign-Urbana, an interfaith based blend of virtues education and theatre
arts study modeled after the award-winning New York City Children’s Theatre
Company (childrenstheatrecompany.org). Show times are 7:00 p.m. on Saturdays,
May 29 at the First Mennonite Church, 902 W. Springfield, Urbana, and June 5 at
King Elementary School, 1108 W. Fairview, Urbana, and 3:00 p.m. on Sundays, May
30 and June 6 at the Bahá'í Center, 807 E. Green St., Urbana.
 
Admission at the door will be $7.00 for adults, $5.00 for
students, and $3.00 for children 6 and under. More information about the shows,
