Senator Durbin is a co-sponsor of this amendment. Ask Burris to support.

Contrary to what we sent out earlier (edited out of the text below by me),
the latest report is that the vote on the amendment is expected today, not
Thursday.

Dear Robert,

*Call Senator Burris today and urge him to support the Feingold amendment to
the war supplemental, amendment #4204 (See body for further instructions);

Senator Burris's office number: (202) 224-2854*

*Report your call by replying to this email.*

Tuesday afternoon, Senator Russ Feingold of Wisconsin introduced an
amendment on the Afghanistan war supplemental that would require President
Obama to establish a timetable for U.S. military withdrawal from
Afghanistan.

*We think that your Senator, Senator Burris, may be likely to support
Senator Feingold's amendment if he hears from enough constituents urging him
to vote yes. Illinois Senator Durbin is a co-sponsor of this amendment.
Would you call Senator Burris's office in Washington today, urging him to
vote yes?*

Calling your Senator's office is easy. Just follow these instructions:
1. Call Senator Burris's office at *(202) 224-2854*.
2. Ask to speak with *the legislative assistant who handles foreign policy,
Roosevelt Barfield*, making clear that you are a constituent from Illinois.
3. *If you get to speak to Roosevelt Barfield*, please ask him if Senator
Burris intends to support Senator Feingold's amendment to the war
supplemental that would require President Obama to establish a timetable for
U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan. *The amendment number is 4204*.
A. *If Senator Burris does not intend to support the amendment*, ask why
not. What is it about the amendment that prevents the Senator from
supporting it?
B. *If Senator Burris is on the fence or undecided*, ask what would help
persuade the Senator to support the amendment.
4. *If you are directed to voice mail*, please leave a message urging
Senator Burris to support Senator Feingold's amendment to require the
President to establish a timetable for U.S. military withdrawal from
Afghanistan.

If you learn from the office anything about whether Senator Burris intends
to support the amendment, etc., please let us know by replying to this
email. And please forward this email to your friends.

Thank you for all you do to help bring about a just foreign policy,
