Recommended reading: Bob Naiman's speech Oct 11th in Brazil on Big Pharma and how to deal (legally) w/ outrageous costs

Recommended listening: John le Carre (real name, David Cornwell) Oct 11th on DN! talking about political, social issues vs corporate interests -- a wonderful interview w/ a wonderful writer and person.  http://www.democracynow.org/2010/10/11/exclusive_british_novelist_john_le_carr
I've read but one of his books: THE CONSTANT GARDENER, about how Big Pharma tests meds on Kenyan subjects w/o their informed consent (resulting in the death of at least one character)... A good enuff read, but the thing that impressed (and upset) me most was the disclaimer by le Carre that any resemblance to actual persons or companies was purely coincidental, but that, in doing the research for the book, he'd found that in reality things were far worse than indicated in his book.
