Former Afghan MP Malalai Joya and  Engineer Basir and Ms. Sparghai of The Solidarity Party of Afghanistan have confirmed their participation in the conference organised by three progressive and left parties of Pakistan, (Workers party Pakistan, Awami Party Pakistan and Labour Party Pakistan). We are expecting more confirmation from the progressive groups of Afghanistan. 


Malalai Joya is a former Afghan MP, she is a human rights activist and author.  Joya served as a Parliamentarian in the National Assembly of Afghanistan from 2005 until early 2007, after being dismissed for publicly denouncing the presence of what she considered to be warlords and war criminals in the Afghan parliament. An outspoken critic of the Karzai administration and its Western supporters, Joya's perspective is not one you find often in the US media.

The conference will take place on 21-22 December 2011, at Hotel Ambassador, Davis Road Lahore. The conference will discuss the present political scenario of the region and its impact on Pakistan and Afghanistan. The main purpose of the conference is build a more close relationship of the progressive forces of the two countries.


There will be several political and social organizations from Pakistan present at the conference.
