There are actually many worthy proposed amendments to cut the military
budget. We highlight two: Rep. Nadler's amendment, which would essentially
end the war in Afghanistan, and Rep. Polis' amendment, which would cut US
forces in Europe.

Dear Robert,

*Urge your Representative to support amendments to cut the military budget
and end the war in Afghanistan:*

*(202) 224-3121*

Congress is debating a Continuing Resolution to keep funding the federal
government through the end of this fiscal year. Representatives of both
parties are introducing amendments to cut the military budget, including
amendments to cut funding for the war in Afghanistan and to cut funding for
stationing US troops in Europe.

*Please call your Representative today at (202) 224-3121 and ask her or him
to support amendments to cut the military budget and end the war in
Afghanistan.*

Rep. Jerry Nadler (Amendment 232) is proposing to cut $90 billion from the
war in Afghanistan, leaving $10 billion to fund the withdrawal of troops.

Rep. Jared Polis (Amendment 46) is proposing to limit the number of troops
stationed in Europe to 35,000 and to cut force levels by 7,500 troops in the
next 6 months. Polis says this should be the beginning of reductions to cut
force levels by 30,000 troops in 2 years. This is in line with the
recommendations of the Sustainable Defense Task Force report sponsored by
Rep. Frank and Rep. Paul.

*Please call your Representative today at (202) 224-3121 and ask her or him
to support the Nadler, Polis, and other amendments to cut the military
budget and end the war in Afghanistan. *

Thank you for all you do to help bring about a just foreign policy,
