How to keep it up? The party system is designed to achieve the goals of a tiny 
economic elite by excluding 80% of the population from participation.

It works well enough that we had two presidential contenders in 2008 who would 
follow precisely the same policies if elected. They differed only in 'personality.'

That's not democracy, of course, but the demand for it is growing.

How about an American Autumn to expand the Arab Spring?  Obama (and Netanyahu) 
driven from office like Mubarak (and Lyndon Johnson)?
