[Peace-discuss] [Peace] proposal for anti-Islamophobia event at today's AWARE meeting, 5pm at McKinley Foundation

Sounds like a good idea, but some effort should be made to expose the
duplicitous game the administration is playing in this regard. The most
reactionary Islamic state in the world, Saudi Arabia, is of course a Principal
client of the US government. So the administration doesn't want to embrace a war
against Islam explicitly, however much it does implicitly.

That means it seems to me that any critique of Islamophobia would necessarily
include an analysis of Obama's MENA policy and its propaganda cover.

For example, Christopher Hitchens' response to Chomsky's account of the murder
of OBL passed without such an analysis to challenge it, and we should try to
counter such things.

I'm suggesting that talking about Islamophobia is necessary but not sufficient
to challenge Obama's wars. --CGE

[PS - I'm unable to attend tonight's meeting, but /AWARE on the Air/ will record
at the usual time & place on Tuesday - but under the new format: videos and
visuals will be featured, and I'm soliciting suggestions. Would it be worthwhile
to run "Reel Bad Arabs," followed by a brief discussion of this campaign?]
