This is a reaffirmation rather than a realignment.  pakistan has had a military relationship with china for quite some time.  note that china foreign policy is generally nonaggresive.

Here (http://www.eutimes.net/2011/05/china-warns-us-against-war-with-pakistan/) is an interesting article about a visit of a top Pakistani diplomat to China. A top Chinese official gave a speech during this visit warning that any US attack on Pakistan would be construed as an attack on China and dealt with accordingly. There are also increasingly close military ties between China and Pakistan.
