majority of the French population. It would be more useful to examine
the role of Middle East conflicts in creating hostilities at home than
endlessly denouncing the French people for their incorrect thoughts.
But France’s foreign policy – its role in starting the Libya war,
its aggressive stance toward Syria, its total alignment with Israel
and the United States in the Middle East – is not a major issue in
the current presidential election, with the main Socialist candidate
François Hollande adhering to this policy.'
