  CORPORATE ATTACK ON PUBLIC  EDUCATION TEACHERS AND SUPPORT STAFF UNIONS

  Former Champaign resident and current Chicago Teachers Union member Xian Barrett will be speaking at a public forum on Saturday August 25th in Urbana.

  Xian Barrett and other members of the Chicago Teachers Union are traveling across Illinois to inform unionized public education workers and teachers, as well as parents, students, and other citizens, about the corporate assault on public education in the city of Chicago that many fear could spread to the rest of the state.

  This attack upon public education, driven by corporate special interests and their bought-and-paid-for politicians, includes massive lay-offs of teachers and support staff workers.

  It is CRUCIAL that ALL citizens be informed about this threat to quality public education and about the effective community & union organizing methods that have been used to counteract it.  Illinois citizens must be prepared to stop the spread of this assault.
