Robert,

As we predicted earlier this week, Republicans could be so extreme that
they accidentally help save Social Security from attacks. Thousands of us
called Republican members of Congress urging them to oppose a deal -- and
they did!

Last night, the Tea Party undermined House Speaker John Boehner by
rejecting his fiscal showdown plan.

*With Democratic votes needed, progressives now have new leverage. *We must
go all out to block cuts to Social Security benefits!

Check out the below chart about the main proposal to cut Social Security,
and help educate others by forwarding it to others or clicking to share on

Also, members of the Progressive Caucus really stepped up this week. Click
here to see which members of Congress have been boldest, and chip in $1 to
each of their next campaigns to say
thanks.<http://act.boldprogressives.org/go/13141?t=3&akid=11540.448639.enPLT2>
Saying
thanks really makes a big difference.

Thanks for being a bold progressive.
