Bradley Manning defense claims victory on due process motion

Prosecutors Ordered to Explain Misleading Statements to Court
By the Bradley Manning Support Network. June 26, 2012.
FORT MEADE, Maryland -- Judge Denise Lind ordered military prosecutors to provide a detailed account of their discovery of evidence that could help PFC Bradley Manning's defense. The ruling came in response to a motion by lead defense counsel David Coombs, who cited misleading statements made by government lawyers about their efforts to locate required materials.
"The Obama administration can't hide from reality forever" said Jeff Paterson, a lead organizer with the Bradley Manning Support Network. "Any ruling in favor of the truth is a victory for Bradley Manning, because the government's strategy of abuse, obfuscation and outright deception simply won't stand the light of day."

Reports from Pride 2012
Contingents in support of Bradley Manning were organized at Pride events in San Francisco, Chicago and New York City. Earlier this month supporters also marched in the Washington, DC and LA Pride parades. Thank you for marching in solidarity!

San FranciscoChicagoNew York City

“[Bradley Manning] has participated in Pride marches and campaigned against the ‘Don’t ask, don’t tell’ restrictions on gay military personnel… Manning is also a humanist and a man with a conscience. When he discovered human rights violations by the US armed forces and duplicity by the US government, he was shocked and distressed… believing it was betraying the US ideals of democracy and human rights.“

-Human rights activist Peter Tatchell

The Bradley Manning Support Network would like to thank everyone who marched in solidarity with Bradley during last weekends Pride parades around the country. On June 24th, 2012, supporters in New York City, Chicago, and in San Francisco formed Free Bradley Manning contingents, marching for hours while chanting, singing, and holding Free Bradley Manning signs.

Bradley Manning's next motion hearing July 16-20th. Can you attend?
Alleged whistleblower PFC Bradley Manning is back in court July 16th-20th for a motion hearing. We will be holding a vigil early in the morning (8am) outside the Fort Meade compound (as protests and protest signs are not permitted on base.) Afterwards we will all move into the court room.
As the government continues to extend the trial timeline, it is more essential than ever that we demonstrate our support for Bradley. Years of delays will not work to cover up the governments brutal treatment of Bradley Manning - treatment the UN called cruel, inhuman and degrading. Show your support for Bradley Manning: come and join us inside and outside the court room.
