[Peace-discuss] Harris-Perry channels Obama

Harris-Perry said education is the only way to truly address problems of inequality in America. This must go beyond reform efforts to reimaging how participation can work in our classrooms to emulate the social participation necessary for democracy. Rather than focusing our energies on charter schools, for which results are not proven, Harris-Perry argued for fostering a sense of community and imagination from early childhood to college.
 
"When we look at the current circumstance of our shredded social contract...it is actually an opportunity for change. It is actually a hopeful moment," Harris-Perry concluded. "It is a possibility of asking whether or not we are going to do something audacious with this world."
