I'm having trouble finding the best one, but on Sunday Amnesty
International ran a "Shadow Summit", which was planned to include
Madeleine Albrecht (though she may at last moment not have appeared),
which called on NATO... not to leave Afghanistan alone, but to protect
the rights of Afghan women. Several Afghan women were there to speak
for this. And, while the anti-NATO rally was going on, Amnesty urged
people tocome and fly kites on Navy Pier:

A notable quote from the above:

> Suzanne Nossel, executive director, Amnesty International USA, said:
> “After the billions of dollars and thousands of lives given to the
> cause of a secure and peaceful Afghanistan, turning back the clock on
> women's rights would be tragic. Afghan women understandably fear that
> a return to the dark days of Taliban control over their lives will set
> back their rights, undermine Afghanistan's stability and prosperity
> over the long term, and erode the legacy of the last decade of U.S.
> and NATO engagement in that country.”

Erode the legacy?

AIUSA has already posted a defensive blurb in response to criticism,
saying that they neither support nor oppose the NATO presence, etc.
Maybe they neither support nor oppose the use of drones, too.

And, one article on the three Chicago protestors charged with terrorism
- by way of entrapment, says the NLG:
