Two poetry events in the next three days -


    Aaron Ammons' *Speak Cafe*
    *tonight*  - *Thursday Nov. 8th - 6:30-8:30pm,*
    in *Krannert Art Museum*, 500 E. Peabody Drive, Champaign
    featuring Ugochi, the "African Buttafly",
      a Nigerian born amazing songstress who now resides in Chicago

    "SONG / POETRY / EXPRESSION / ART / KNOWLEDGE & Sweet Potato Pie
     is what you will hear, see, feel and taste at SPEAK CAFE."

*Anti-War Poetry Reading
in commemoration of Veterans' Day *
*2:30 PM, Saturday, November 10th*

U-C*Independent Media Center* 202 S. Broadway, Urbana
Grandpa Wahlfeldt Family Room - downstairs
Enter by the stairs leading down from Elm St side.

We are delighted to have as our featured guest *Tim Bagwell*, long- time 
activist with Vietnam Veterans Against the War in Bloomington, Indiana, 
conscientious objector, and a well-known poet who has read his work 
throughout the Midwest. Read his poems

Tim will be joined by others, including local artist *Aaron Ammons*, 
author of two poetry anthologies and convener of the local Speak Cafe, a 
monthly event celebrating Black Power with hip-hop, song, poetry and 
other spoken word art forms.

*Please come out, enjoy the poetry and re-commit to ending war. *

Light snacks will be served.
