Nina Paley returns to her home town, Urbana, IL to speak at             Allen Hall's Unit One on September 16 - 20 at 7p.                      FREE and open to the public! Paley created the animated feature film Sita Sings the Blues shown at Ebertfest, The Art Theater, and at 150 film festivals, winning more than 35
international awards. Her adventures w/ our broken copyright
system led her to join QuestionCopyright.org, which is dedicated to helping cultural producers embrace open
distribution. Paley recently produced a series of animated shorts about
intellectual freedom called Minute Memes. She was formerly a syndicated cartoonist and is now re-releasing all her
old comics with a “Copyheart” message, inviting people to copy her
work. Paley received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2006 and has a new daily comic strip, Mimi & Eunice. For the full Allen Hall-Unit One schedule, click on   www.housing.illinois.edu/en/Current/Living-   Learning/Allen/Guest%20in%20Residence%20Program/2012-2013%20Guests-in-Residence.aspx
