Probably the most egregious offender is Democracy Now!, which unlike many of the pubs mentioned, is not on the verge of insolvency. In fact, it ran a $1.2 million surplus on $6.5 million in revenue in fiscal 2011, and had assets close to $13 million. Their new building is LEED-certified, of course, but the interns are ruthlessly exploited. C'mon, Amy Goodman, you can do better than this. Unlike ITT, which is always on the verge of insolvency, you've got the money."
