 *Special Exhibit and Event at the Spurlock Museum • Pass the Word!*

 *From March 5 to June 16, the Spurlock Museum will be featuring the
temporary exhibit From Protest to Peace.  *

 One of the poignant testaments to the Northern Irish "Troubles" is the The
People's Gallery, a street in the Bogside area of Derry where the buildings
are decorated in murals painted by Tom and William Kelly and their friend
Kevin Hasson, known as the Bogside Artists. This exhibit features images of
these murals with a presentation of the history and politics of Northern
Ireland.

*Exhibit Opening Reception and Concert*
Friday, March 8, 2013 • 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM • Free
The concert is by renowned Irish performers Laurence Nugent (flute and
whistle) and Tim O'Sullivan (stories and songs). Information on the
performers is in the attached pdf.

*From Protest to Peace* and its associated events are made possible in part
by gifts from Dr. Allan C. and Marlene S. Campbell and the Spurlock Museum
Guild, and it is sponsored in part by the Illinois Arts Council, a state
agency. The exhibit is on loan from the Georgia Southern University Museum.
