Paul, 

Fair? To do or become that which you dislike in another? Having read most of the string, not all, I thought that to be one of the points of the conversation. I should, though I'm not, be offended by the "chink" word because I produced two half Chinese  offspring, however I don't take it personally. I am offended by any word used to denigrate others.  What is to be achieved if we use the same tools to disparage, of those whom we oppose or disagree with.  This is not the school playground.

ewj is the one who is dismissive of sensitivity to expressions such as coon, I think it fair to turn it upon him. . .

Thats one I haven't heard in a while, right up there with Gook and the N word. Certainly doesn't belong on an email link dedicated to peace/antiwar discussions.
