[Peace-discuss] Rep. Rodney Davis responds on Dent-Price Iran diplomacy letter

Ron--

I'm sorry that you're offended by my undeniably crude way of expressing myself.

For example, in the attached note, I thought that I was making fun of the ridiculous way our congressman announces his support for murder and destruction in the Mideast (and that, in a note to someone who's done a great deal to make those crimes public). It's a signal rhetorical failure that it came across to you as a 'weird taunt of Bob N.'

Does your dismay with my conversation mean that you're unwilling to continue to engage with it on "News from Neptune" when we resume in September (Fridays at 7pm on UPTV)?

Regards, Carl

But the trajectory of Carl's recent posts appears to be in the direction of ever-more obsessive accusations against almost everybody that they are not sufficiently anti-Obama (NSAO). I think this is why more & more people report resentment at being bullied in this way & ignoring Carl's posts, or deleting them on sight (or asking to be taken off the mailing list).

The iron determinism with which this operates is remarkable. Carl will then believe himself to have refuted & discredited someone else in a completely definitive & dispositive way, even if nobody else does. So it goes . . . .

>> I support diplomacy and in order to be successful, the Administration needs all the leverage possible to maintain pressure economically and politically. That being said, few things concern me more on a national and world security front than a nuclear-armed Iran. I am a co-sponsor of H.R. 850, the Nuclear Iran Prevention Act which would strengthen enforcement of current U.S. sanctions on Iran, expand sanctions targeting Iran's human rights violations, and authorize the President to impose sanctions on any entity that maintains significant commercial ties to Iran. While I did not sign this particular letter, I did want to share my support for diplomacy. I will keep your thoughts in mind as Congress considers future legislation dealing with the reduction of nuclear threats and human rights.
