Many Americans know that economic inequality is is especially great in the US - and that it is growing, and accelerating.  

Fewer know that social mobility is especially low in the US, in comparison with other industrialized countries; 

or that, because the US is even more unequal now than it was a generation ago, we should expect even less social mobility in the years to come.
