AWARE ON THE AIR - cable- and web-cast Tuesdays at 10pm on UPTV <urbanapublictelevision.org> & repeated thru the week - tonight considers Barack Obama's candid description of his war policy:

"Obama Told Aides He's 'Really Good At Killing People,' New Book 'Double Down' Claims"
 <http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/11/03/obama-drones-double-down_n_4208815.html>.

The Bureau of Investigative Journalism in London estimates that the president has killed 2,500-4,000 people with drones alone - including over 200 children. But his 'secret' global terror campaign is not just a matter of drone attacks: increasingly it has come to rely upon the deployment of more than 60,000 "Special Operations Forces" in more than a hundred countries around the world. (See <http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article36648.htm>.)

While US media report very little about Obama's wars, on this week's AWARE ON THE AIR you can hear

~ Ron Szoke: "War Manifesto";

~ David Johnson: "The Million-Mask March & Congressional No-Shows";

~ Karen Aram: "International Arms Trade Treaty "; and

~ Karen Evans-Levey: a reading from Howard Zinn and Anthony Arnove's "Voices of a People's History of the United States," in solidarity with the Zinn Read-In at Purdue University:

"In honor of historian Howard Zinn and all the ordinary people he celebrated in his work, on Tuesday November 5, scholars and activists from across the country will take part in a Read-in of Zinn’s work on the campus of Purdue University and on campuses across the nation. The day marks the birthday of another fighter for social justice – Indiana-born labor activist, Eugene Debs. The idea for the event was sparked when the Associated Press reported that the current Purdue University President Mitch Daniels, in 2010 as Governor of Indiana, tried to censor and ban Howard Zinn’s 'A People’s History of the United States' from Indiana schools."
