BTW, he didn't just vote for it.  He also made a disgusting statement to the media about fraud and about the unemployment rate going down and food stamp usage going up anyway (apparently blissfully unaware of all the stories just in the last few days, if we didn't know it before, about the unemployment rate going down because people were dropping out of the workforce after looking for a long time without success).

I had a recent letter to the editor in the News Gazette, but someone ought to write one calling this m*f* out on this issue!

What a bastard !

I knew the honeymoon with Davis wouldn't last long, even a broken clock is right twice a day.
Of course he could care less about the suffering this will cause, but that aside he is so short sighted as to the additional problems this will cause including a rise in the crime rate as people become desperate.

House Republicans narrowly pushed through a bill on Thursday that slashes billions of dollars from the food stamp program, over the objections of Democrats and a veto threat from President Obama. The vote set up what promised to be a contentious fight with the Senate and dashed hopes for passage this year of a new five-year farm bill.
The vote was 217 to 210.
The bill would cut $40 billion from the food stamp program over the next 10 years. It would also require adults between 18 and 50 without minor children to find a job or to enroll in a work training program in order to receive benefits. It would also limit the time those recipients could get benefits to three months.
