It will be interesting in the next 4-weeks to see how the U.S. corporate
media covers this upcoming election in Greece scheduled for Jan. 29th, It
will also be interesting to see what dirty tricks the EU / World-Bank/ IMF
will resort to prevent a REAL democratic representative government for the
majority of the Greek people from being elected in the form of the Syriza
party.

The Greek people have suffered enough under neo-liberal economic and
political rule and if necessary, if Syriza is elected, tell the EU World
Bank Troika to go screw themselves and begin to rebuild a people's economy.

The leader of Syriza assured that accusations that the left-wing coalition
would be detrimental to the economy were unfounded.

Greek opposition leader Alexis Tsipras has hit back at accusations that his
left-wing government would ruin the economy should Greeks vote to install
his Syriza party in next month's elections, promising to protect bank
deposits in the country.

"A Syriza government and its allies will safeguard - without any footnotes
or asterisks - the deposits of citizens at Greek banks, in cooperation with
the European Central Bank and European partners," Tsipras said in a speech
Monday.

"Let's put an end to the horror stories."

The Greek parliament
<http://telesurtv.net/english/multimedia/Greek-General-Elections-Open-Way-fo
r-Syriza-Victory-20141229-0010.html> failed Monday to agree on a new
president in the third and final round of voting prompting a snap general
election, which is scheduled to be held January 25, and which places the
left-wing Syriza party in a position to grab parliamentary power.

"Syriza will struggle in an unequal context against the Troika's dogmatic
neoliberal agenda, as well as against the Greek oligarchy. Our electoral
program will not be victorious unless it has the support of the majority of
the Greek people.

"The weight on our shoulders does not have to be a burden but a sign of hope
and victory for the months and years to come," Costas Isychos, head of
Syriza's Foreign Policy and Defense sector, told teleSUR English.

However, the left-wing coalition has been met by fierce criticism from Greek
and European forces.

The European Union's most powerful official warned Greeks to

eece-20141212-0024.html> avoid the "wrong election result" by not voting a
left-wing coalition party into government.

"I assume that the Greeks - who don't have an easy life, above all the many
poor people - know very well what a wrong election result would mean for
Greece and the eurozone," said Jean-Claude Juncker, the President of the
European Commission.
