Dear Friends,

Champaign County Health Care Consumers (CCHCC) wanted to help get the word out about this important event this evening - a Panel Discussion on
Protecting the Mahomet Aquifer.

Besides trying to protect the Mahomet Aquifer from the Clinton Landfill's
effort to receive PCBs on its landfill above the Mahomet Aquifer, we also
need to fight against toxic waste from Former Manufactured Gas Plants
ALREADY going into the Clinton Landfill.

The Ameren-owned toxic site at 5th & Hill Streets in Champaign is a Former
Manufactured Gas Plant (FMGP). The waste from these FMGP sites is highly
toxic and should not be allowed at the Clinton Landfill, and neither should
PCBs.

WHEN:    Monday, February 24, 2014 from 7:00-9:00 p.m.

WHERE:   Unitarian Universalist Church Fellowship Hall
         309 W. Green St., Urbana

SPEAKERS: Speakers from the Mahomet Aquifer Protection Alliance--Ann
Burger, Joe Hooker, and Steve Bridges--will discuss issues surrounding the
proposed PCB landfill situated over the aquifer in Clinton, including why
this issue is important, what's going on locally & regionally to protect
our aquifer, and what individuals can do to get involved.  Snacks will be
provided.  Join us!

Sponsored by the Social Action Committee and the Green UUs of the
Unitarian Universalist Church of Urbana-Champaign.
