*The US "Asia-Pacific Pivot" and the Struggle for US-China Peace and
Solidarity*
/While the United States continues to intervene militarily and to engage
in covert actions in a growing list of places across the Middle East,
Africa and Eastern Europe//,/it is also increasing its military might in
East Asia, pushing Japan to replace its self-defense forces with a
regular military, and pushing other South East Asia nations to undertake
military build ups. These actions increase the potential for a new era
of conflict between the US and China and the US and Russia.
Lee Siu Hin, a long-time member of UFPJ's Coordinating Committee, has
been working in the US and China for the past several years as a
bi-national solidarity activist. He is recently back in the US, and will
talk about his work in China, his observations about China and
Chinese-US relations and the views of the Chinese people. This call will
consider how US activists can build bi-national solidarity with Chinese
and Asian people.
