50+ public figures show support for Chelsea
In a statement released on Monday, November 10th 2014, 50+ celebrities andpublic icons have come forward in support of Chelsea Manning, Wikileaks,Snowden, and whistleblowers:"We stand in support of those fearless whistleblowers and publishers who risktheir lives and careers to stand up for truth and justice.Thanks to the courage of sources like Daniel Ellsberg, Chelsea Manning,Jeremy Hammond, and Edward Snowden, the public can finally see for themselvesthe war crimes, corruption, mass surveillance, and abuses of power of the U.S.government and other governments around the world. These bold and courageous acts sparkaccountability, can transform governments, and ultimately make the world abetter place."The statement has been signed by public figures such as Susan Sarandon,Oliver Stone, Vivenne Westwood, Noam Chomsky, Russell Brand, Tom Morello, Viggo Mortensen, PJ Harvey, Terri Gilliam, M.I.A, Thurston Moore, Moby, Pamela Anderson, and Peter Sarsgaard.

Chelsea Manning to be honored in sculpture
Chelsea Manning will be enshrined alongside Edward Snowden and Julian Assange in a monument created by Italian artist Davide Dormino. Life-sizerepresentations of the three will be sculpted standing on chairsnext to an empty forth chair.“Thethree of them are considered traitors, who offended the world because they toldthe truth. It’s an invitation to take sides and stand up for the ones who have thecourage to change things,” Dormino said about the forth chair."I felt that is very importantthat the public do something to support. The reality is that thesewhistleblowers are our friends... whistleblowers are sustaining democracies byproviding us with accurate information that we are not getting from ourrulers,” added Vaughan Smith who is also involved in the statue’sinception.
