Gosh, this is a depressing discussion.

Ricky, Brian, et al. -- are you really saying that "sorry, I wasn't present
for the vote" is a credible response regarding one of the most important
international civil rights struggles of our time?

And, no, I don't think "go ask her" is a credible follow-up response --
residents shouldn't be asked to form personal relationships with their
state reps to know what's really going on.

I don't think there's any need for Carol's campaign to weigh in on this --
several correspondents in this discussion seem to have the inside story. So
just tell us -- was it the UIUC medical school? Something more?
