Actually, here's the Palestinian National Charter.  It doesn't say that.  http://avalon.law.yale.edu/20th_century/plocov.asp
What it does say is that the establishment of Israel was illegal and wrong, being decided by powerful nations outside the area then known as Palestine (mainly the US) as the British gave up control of the area and the US emerged as one of two superpowers.  Reasonable people may disagree, in my opinion, about what happened next and how it should be characterized, but the ongoing reality is that Israel maintains a brutal occupation of what land was left Palestinians after their mass ouster from Israel and yet continues to build Israeli settlements in that same land despite countless laws and agreements against the practice.  If the Arab League, or whoever, does not recognize Israel as a state or Jewish homeland, this is no excuse.

I suppose one can choose what one declares as retaliation for what, since the conflict goes back to 1948, but again that is no excuse for the occupation or any of the human rights violations on any "side."

But I believe there has been a great deal of criticism from the left of US allies Saudi Arabia and others in the region, on human rights violations, including the US use of some of these brutal states as torture proxies.  But this brutality by governments of the so-called "Arab states" is all the more reason that it is unreasonable to expect migration to territories they hold as a solution, final or otherwise, to the conflict.  Ultimately the division of the world into smaller and smaller ethnic states is not really progress, though it may at times seem to make practical sense.  The "partition" of Palestine, like the otherwise dissimilar creation of Liberia by white military might over the opposition of the local residents, may have been partly well-intentioned, although definitely a mixed bag, but neither was really a good way to address the problems of ethnic diversity, integration, assimilation, or power dynamics.  IMHO.

why do the liberals of the left want to boycott only israel when all the countries around it have done much worse things and the left loves them. one stumbling block to peace is the palestinian determination to wipe out every jew in israel, which is in their charter and which they claim as a right in the peace talks. whenever agreements are made, they violate them, mostly because the occupation offers more opportunities for corruption for the leaders than peace would

You can count on me to support the principles that I thought you supported.
After another day of Israeli piracy (ignored by Obama), I will be supporting the Green party nominee for the state representative seat from this area - someone who would have voted against SB 1761, rather than acquiescing to the neocon (and neoliberal) Democrat party's dictates.
  I await your apology.

| Dear Carl --

These last 6 months have been a whirlwind of listening, learning, and advocating in Springfield and once again, thank you for your support and confidence in me.

Although it may feel like the campaign just ended, it's already time to start planning and preparing for the 2016 election and this coming election cycle will be critical.  We must keep as many democrats in office as possible to protect against the attacks on our unions, our social services, and who knows what else to come.  That is why I am asking you to donate $5 today because every dollar counts.

Your contribution of $5 now will support my re-election campaign and send a strong message that the people of Champaign-Urbana are paying attention and will not be intimidated.  We won this once with a grassroots, small donor initiative. Let's do it again.

Thank you for your continued support.

 Sincerely,
 Carol
