Join us for an art exhibition and open reception in honor of Women's
History Month featuring artist, Lyndsey Scott!


*ABOUT THE SHOW : *
Power With*, a lyrical installation of recent work by Lyndsey Scott,
celebrates Womens' History Month by paying playful homage to women's wiles,
wounds, wombs, and wisdom. The work dances across walls ~ pulsing between
pop affirmations + collage portraits + sacred geometries + plant medicine.
Captured in paint, photography, handmade books, shrinky-dinks, and
things-found-on-the-forest-floor, these works live as by-products of
dynamic inquiry that invite viewers to stand inside the questions too: what
am I here to embody?

*ABOUT THE ARTIST: *
Born & raised in Rantoul, Lyndsey Scott is no stranger to finding the
miraculous in the mundane. After receiving her BFA in Painting at the UIUC
in 2002, she fled to St. Louis for a decade of community art & rambunctious
collaboration, letting kids nurse back to health a carefree creativity that
art school bruised, and letting south side streets be the hard knox school
of social justice. One healing crisis, two superhero bike tours, a yoga
teacher training, and permaculture design course later, she followed
insistent gut-tugs home to rekindle the home fire. In song, image, soil,
circle, space, time -- she loves to play attention with whomever's game....
wising up to choose together the stories we most hope to embody.
