Members and friends of AWARE are invited to the first meeting of a reading group to consider Thomas Piketty’s “Capital in the Twenty-First Century.”

Time: 7pm Wednesday 6 May 2015
Place: 5 Litchfield Lane, Champaign
Subject: "Introduction” (pp. 1-35) to Piketty’s (quite readable) book. (Subsequent reading schedule to be established.)

Thanks to Karen MEL, we have on-line access: http://resistir.info/livros/piketty_capital_in_the_21_century_2014.pdf <http://resistir.info/livros/piketty_capital_in_the_21_century_2014.pdf>

Like AWARE, the group will be run on anarchist principles. Anarchism doesn’t mean no rules, just no rulers. (Thus an anarchist society would have to be a highly-organized society.)

We will begin at 7pm and stop at 8:15. Sessions will not be taught as a class but conducted like a discussion in a pub (where, as the Irish say, the craic is good).

Light refreshment, as the Americans say, will be served.
