Esther Barnett Goffinet - Author of the book " Ripples of a Lie "

In November 1919 a mob of American Legion members in Centralia Washington
attempted to storm an IWW ( Industrial Workers of the World ) union hall..
Four legionnaires died of gunshot wounds, and one of the Wobblies, Wesley
Everest, was later tortured and lynched. The story of one of the Wobblies,
Eugene Barnett, is told in a fascinating biography, Ripples of a Lie

Barnett Goffinet, who worked to set the historical record straight about the
Centralia case in the face of lies and distortions that persist to this very
day. The subsequent frame-up and trial of the IWW men was the very first
case of the newly formed American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
