The US political establishment disingenuously encourages opposition to ‘fascism' in its feverish campaign to ensure that the administration continue the neocon (pro-war) and neolib (pro-Wall St.) policies of the previous administration (as it is doing).

That’s like encouraging abolitionism as a current political program. Correct, of course, but irrelevant.  —CGE
