It’s my understanding that the “roundups” of immigrants in Champaign County, were in Champaign, as opposed to Urbana. 

There maybe other reasons, but the person I spoke with seemed to think it had something to do with Champaign, not becoming a “Sanctuary City,” whereas Urbana did.
A choice their Mayor made.
