The world is facing two potential devastations, that of climate change, and nuclear war. War is a major contributing factor to climate change, in more ways than just environmental degradation and pollution.

With 68% of the federal budget going to support the military, leaving little for social services, it also means little for support of alternative energies.

As long as US foreign policy is that of perpetual war, in order to control other nations resources, it becomes obvious there is no “will” to support alternative energy.

Individuals can do what they may, give up commercialism, SUV’s, air conditioning, eating meat, long showers and recycle, but compared to the use of fossil fuels, we are one grain of sand in the Sahara.

Communities can attempt to provide clean water, food, and protect their local environment from the ravages of climate change, but we do not live in a bubble, we are dependent and connected to all other communities, and nations.

Unless people unite in common cause, against a government of profiteers, exploitation all, there is little hope for mankind.

Announcing “Anti-War Teach In” Sept. 23rd at Channing Murray 1209 Oregon St. with a panel of nine.
