Yes, I am also making a small sacrifice to attend because of the importance of the event. My usual Sunday late afternoon / early evening cooking / dinner with my wife, daughter and future son in law. They will have to cook and I can eat left overs.

Carl Estabrook has suggested cancelation of tonights AWARE meeting, in order for AWARE members to attend this important event. Carl passing up a beer, for an event, proves the importance of this issue. :)

The phenomenon known as “Russiagate” is a ubiquitous, viral narrative that dominates the corporate news cycle and penetrates many layers of popular discourse. From server hacking to BOT farms, from Facebook ads to Pokémon Go, Russia’s nefarious influence seems to reach everywhere. But despite the multitude of claims, accusations of Russian influence have been dubious and have fallen apart over time.

So why does the Russiagate narrative persist?

Join the Party for Socialism and Liberation C-U for a presentation that probes both the past and present for answers. We will be discussing post-Soviet relations between Eastern Europe and the West and how these events set the stage for the current political climate, the timeline of Russiagate events, and the political utility of the Russiagate narrative and its consequences. A question and answer segment will follow.

We urge anyone who is interested in understanding both domestic and international politics to attend this event to learn and discuss the origins, substance, and ramifications of the Russiagate phenomenon. We hope to see you Sunday, April 22nd at the IMC
