Good article, but the fact is, the Democrats didn’t take over the left, they maybe left of the Republicans, but they have never really been the “left”. Also, a revolution today would be more “democratic” than what we get with elections.

Elections are rigged, beginning with the primaries.

Revolutions frequently, unlike coup de tats which are overthrow by the military, actually represent the will of the people, or at least some people. They usually take place when the will of the people has not been carried out by elected representatives.

The critical issue is who takes power after the revolution, thats the hard part. Chris Hedges says: “we shouldn’t attempt to take or hold power, we should simply “scare” power.

There needs to be an organized Party, with a structure, that doesn’t represent the same “for profit interests” that were overthrown. Worse, is a takeover by the right.
