Karen, while the ascribed characteristics of gender identity need to be
questioned, and certainly have been in recent decades, the binary nature of
biological sexuality is I fear something we are stuck with as a species. I
for one am grateful for that, personal and political issues
notwithstanding. Issues of equality and justice need to be addressed at the
levels of material production and social reproduction, neither of which has
anything to do with the demands being made by the transgender community,
which seem to me to only reinforce the neoliberal nightmare through which
we are living.
