After the meeting, Bill Clinton turned to his aides, astonished, and asked:

Recently, Trump said he wanted to withdraw the U.S. military from Syria.
That’s something he promised American voters he would do as a candidate.
Now that he’s President, Trump said he wanted to keep this promise to
American voters.
