Dear Friends,

It's that time of year again. The 31st annual Peace Bazaar is only a few
days away - this Saturday! Please come and shop! You'll get some great
bargains and will be supporting peace and social justice at the same time.

The Peace Bazaar is being held Saturday December 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at
Community United Church of Christ. Community UCC is at 805 S Sixth Street
(6th and Daniel) in Champaign.

We will have all kinds of great bargains and some truly wonderful baked
goods. Just a fraction of the things being offered:

	gifts (new and recycled)
	baked breads, pies, and cookies
	kitchen items
	household items
	microwave in excellent condition
	bunk bed
dresser, chairs, and a few more pieces of furniture
	house plants
antique books, cookbooks and children's books
	toys
prints by Urbana artist Terri Mittenthal
woven goods (shawls, scarves, hats, more) by weaver Barbara Anderson
60 minute massage session with Jan Kalmar
	handmade jewelry by local artists
	ceramics by local artists
	UNICEF cards and calendars
gift certificates to local restaurants and businesses
	holiday decorations
	gifts, gifts, and more gifts

All funds raised from the Peace Bazaar go to groups supporting Peace and
Social Justice. This year the recipients include Eastern Illinois
Foodbank, Empty Tomb, the BOAST Academy after-school program, Oxfam, relief
for Afghan children through UNICEF, and the Church World Service landmine
eradication program.

The 31st annual Peace Bazaar is sponsored by the Urbana-Champaign Friends
Meeting and Community United Church of Christ. If you have items you wish
to donate, please bring them to Community UCC on Friday evening. If you
wish to volunteer or have questions contact Joan at 344-7942,
jnlshppn at prairienet.org or Claire at 265-0581(w), 356-6710 (h),
