In the old days(grrrr, when?), some people 'came out' politically by
making sure they stood by the door of talks/events (esp. of a political
nature)handing out buttons and fliers and chatting /teasing/seducing
the people coming to the talk, to get involved in anti-war activity. It
took fliers, but it also took hutzpuh(msp?)and poisonality(personality)to
get a population who is convinced that its best bet is to be uninvolved
and anonymous, into being involved and a mensch.

This Wednesday and Thursday nights are three excellent political
events/talks, where it would be of use to pass out AWARE fliers and
anti-war buttons: Wednesday night is Robert MeChesney etc on media, and on
thursday night is the What is War? at Urbana High School, and the Francis
Boyle talk.

Politicos are needed.

Can anyone who is going to these events pick up AWARE fliers and anti-war
buttons, get to the event a little early, and pass these out? Also, stay a
little afterwards--the eloquence of these speakers/events may invite
people to become involved.

AWARE buttons/fliers (and Rob Scott's booklets)are available on the porch
of the School for Designing a Society, 409 N. Race, U. Jim Buell has also
made up some great buttons and stickers---they are also on the porch.

Could you write me back and let me know if you intend to come out of the
closet and be a politico? Also, for which events? Maybe being a two-some
might be easiest at first.

It's a challenge.
