Do you have a friend in the Chicago area(preferably, North side--Skokie
area) who would like to take on a paid job as a care-giver for my mom Jo,
and our friend Jo? The Urbana care-club has been driving up to Chicago
for the past 6 months to take care of Jo, who has some form of
dementia(creepy word--simply, her brain hurts her, and lets her down) and
now we think(in anticipation of winter) that we need more caregivers in the
area.

Jo can dress herself, feed herself, is a feisty 76 year old who used to be
a professional artist until the disease hit her. Now she cannot manage her
day without a friend, and she wants to be continuously out of the house,
being driven around, going somewhere. That's the caregivers job--to
befriend her, take her around, do errands, keep her company.

We are looking for two people: someone who would do 2 days a week, all day,
staying over at night, and for someone who
would do three dinners a week. The work is well-paid, which is both
besides the point and part of the point. This person would need a car, as
Jo needs to be driven around, out of the house. Experience is not
necessary, though reliability and imaginative compassion are.

If you know of someone who would like to take on this work(and it's not
just a job, it's life-saving/giving work) please let us know.
