Tell President Bush and Congress to Help, Not Undermine
The United Nations' Inspectors

If you are already a member of TrueMajority, you can send your free fax on
this issue by simply hitting REPLY to this message and then SEND. A letter
will automatically be faxed to President Bush and each of your representatives
in Congress with your name and address on it. Please forward this message to
your friends, family and colleagues! If this message was forwarded to you,
visit the TrueMajority Action Center and send your own letter. Just click this

United Nations inspectors have returned to Iraq to hunt down and destroy
weapons of mass destruction. This is a triumph for the UN, the rule of law -
even for President Bush who pushed so hard for this. So why does he seem hell-
bent on making sure that no matter what happens it will lead to war?

So here are three quick things you can do to tell President Bush and Congress
that we want to win without war:

First, send your faxes (you can read it below) by hitting REPLY and SEND if
you are a member or by going to the TrueMajority Action Center if this was
forwarded to you or you want to change the letter. Here's the link to the
Action Center:

http://www.truemajority.com/index.asp?action=2349&ms=www1&ref=4843

Second, forward this to anyone else you think might want to win this thing
without killing anybody.

And finally, make a call. We are working with a bunch of good groups on this
issue, including MoveOn and Working Assets. As part of the campaign the
groups are running an ad in The New York Times that supports the inspection
teams and urges people to call the President and their Members of Congress
asking them to do the same. You can reach the President at 202-456-1414 and
the Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121.

Here is the letter we'll send for you:

Dear Mr. President/Representative,

On October 11, the U.S. Congress passed a joint resolution on Iraq that
authorizes the Administration to use war as a last resort-if and only if
diplomacy fails to accomplish the U.S.'s national goals.

I am concerned that the Administration found Iraq's response "not encouraging"
when the Inspectors had only been at work for a week and had not encountered
Iraqi obstruction. The United States has made a commitment to counter the
danger posed by Saddam Hussein through the international community. The
resumption of the inspections regime is a triumph for the U.S., international
law and multilateralism. But the United States will lose all credibility with
its allies if it appears that it will go to war regardless of the inspections'
success.

It appears that the Administration is looking for an excuse to go to war, when
a peaceful and just solution may be at hand. I ask that you do all you can to
make sure the United States gives diplomacy a chance.

We can win without war.

Sincerely,
(Your name and address will be added here automatically)
