[Peace] Peace Bazaar tomorrow!

Dear Friends,
The 32nd annual Peace Bazaar is this Saturday that's tomorrow! Please
come and shop! You'll get some great bargains and will be supporting peace
and social justice at the same time. This is a HUGE sale. We have all
kinds of wonderful treasures.
The Peace Bazaar is being held Saturday December 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
at Community United Church of Christ. Community is at 805 S Sixth Street
(6th and Daniel) in Champaign. Plenty of parking is available in the lot
behind the church and the UI lot across Sixth St. Come at 9 a.m for the
best selection. Half-price sale begins at 1 p.m.
We will have all kinds of great bargains and some truly wonderful baked
goods. Just a fraction of the things being offered:
gifts (new and recycled)
baked breads, pies, and cookies
china and kitchen items
desk, chairs, side tables, umbrella stand, room screens, more furniture
house plants
pasta maker, ice-cream makers, other small appliances
antique books, cookbooks and children's books
toys - new and used, in abundance
3 originals and 3 prints by Urbana artist Terri Mittenthal
woven goods (shawls, scarves, hats, more) by weaver Barbara Anderson
60 minute massage session with Jan Kalmar
handmade jewelry by local artists
ceramics by local artists
UNICEF cards and calendars
gift certificates to local restaurants and businesses
electric fans, can openers, tons of miscellaneous
holiday decorations, 6 foot artificial tree
gifts, gifts, and more gifts
Funds raised from the Peace Bazaar go to groups supporting Peace and Social
Justice. This year the recipients include Eastern Illinois Foodbank, the
BOAST Academy after-school program at Kenwood Elementary, Progressive
Resource/Action Cooperative, Independent Media Center, Voices in the
Wilderness, Witness for Peace, and Amnesty International USA. Each year
93% to 95% of funds raised go directly to recipients with just 5% to 7% of
funds raised used to pay expenses.
The 32nd annual Peace Bazaar is sponsored by the Urbana-Champaign Friends
Meeting and Community United Church of Christ. If you have items you wish
to donate, please bring them to Community tonight (Friday). If you would
