Hey Vicki,
I don't know if you are on any of the Green Party email lists, so I am
sending this to you separately. Please forward this on to the AWARE list
(and anyone else who might be interested). Anything you can do to get
more people out petitioning will be a big help

Thanks,
John Paul

Hello everyone,
As you may have heard, some members of the Democratic party have
announced that they are going to try to "challenge us to death" in order
to insure that Carl is not allowed on the ballot in November. No 3rd
party on Independent candidate has run for congress from this area since
1914, and apparently the Democrats want to keep it that way. In order to
get Carl on the ballot, we need to collect 5000 valid signatures,
which means we should turn in at least 7000 raw signatures (or better
yet 8000) to be sure that we make it. On the bright side, we can
definitely do this - we just need to keep on petitioning every chance we
get. We are currently on track to get over 7000, and just a little more
effort will get us over 8000. Please forward this list of petitioning
events to anyone you think will be interested. Of course, you can always
download petitions on your own from www.carlforcongress.com.

As as always, please let me know how many signatures you have
outstanding. Also, please drop myself or Al Weiss (awweiss at uiuc.edu) an
email if you are planning to make any of these events.
Thanks for all of your hard work - John Paul
