  WOMEN & HOMELESSNESS:  A LIFETIME COMMITMENT
  An Activist Forum Presentation by Kathy Sims, Director of the Center
  for Women in Transition

  Kathy Sims has been the Director of the Center for Women in Transition
  since 1989. The Center for Women in Transition, located in Champaign,
  provides safe transitional housing for homeless women and children. The
  Center also provides related support services aimed specifically toward
  women and women with children; these services attempt to address root
  causes of economic distress. Kathy will discuss her work at the
  center and her personal experience with community activism. A question
  and answer session and refreshments will follow her presentation.
  Childcare will be provided.

  Activist Forum is a regular event at the Illinois Disciples Foundation
  that gives experienced community activists an opportunity to highlight
  the work they have done, discuss the activist ideology that experience
  has afforded them, and to keep in contact with and revitalize the strong
  activist community in Champaign-Urbana.
